Richard Deutl has more than 25 years of international leadership experience in luxury hospitality across Europe and Asia. Throughout his career, he has held senior management positions with renowned hospitality brands including Hyatt, Sheraton, Westin and St. Regis, successfully leading hotel openings, repositioning iconic luxury properties, and guiding hotels through periods of significant market change.

Among his career highlights, Richard led the opening of The St. Regis Chengdu, which quickly established itself as the market leader in the city. He also successfully repositioned The St. Regis Beijing, reinforcing its reputation as one of China's iconic luxury hotels, and guided The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on operational resilience and business recovery. In the corporate luxury hotel segment, he successfully opened The Westin Nanjing and later led The Westin Bund Center Shanghai, one of Shanghai's landmark business hotels, maintaining operational excellence during the pandemic while positioning the hotel for long-term success.

 Since July 2025, Richard has served as General Manager of The Sukhothai Bangkok, where he leads one of Asia's most distinguished independent luxury hotels. Under his leadership, the hotel has been recognised with the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Award and Two Michelin Keys, further strengthening its reputation for exceptional hospitality and timeless luxury.
