With more than 34 years of international experience in ultra-luxury hospitality, Paul Linder is a visionary hospitality executive recognised for operational excellence, strategic leadership, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
A native Swiss, Paul is fluent in German, English, French, and Italian, with conversational proficiency in Thai, Japanese, and Korean. His multicultural background and international outlook have enabled him to successfully lead diverse teams and cultivate strong relationships across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Throughout his distinguished career, Paul has held senior leadership positions with some of the world’s most respected luxury hospitality brands. He spent over a decade as General Manager of Chiva-Som International Health Resort, where he helped strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading wellness destinations. He subsequently spent six years with Aman, serving as General Manager of Amanpuri in Thailand and Amanzoe in Greece. He also served for three years as Regional General Manager for COMO Shambhala Estate and COMO Uma Ubud in Bali, overseeing two of the region’s most celebrated luxury wellness retreats.
Most recently, Paul served as Global Director of Operations for Discover Collection, where he played a key role in shaping an innovative portfolio of ultra-luxury hospitality experiences founded on the philosophy of “Unearth the Uncommon.” Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President of Operations for Centara Reserve, based in Bangkok, leading the operational strategy and launch of the group’s flagship luxury brand.
Paul’s expertise encompasses luxury hotels and resorts, branded residences, destination spas, integrated wellness resorts, mixed-use developments, pre-openings, operational turnarounds, asset enhancement, and hospitality consultancy. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered outstanding financial performance while creating distinctive guest experiences and building cultures centred on service excellence.
Known for his authentic, people-first leadership style, Paul is deeply committed to mentoring future hospitality leaders, developing high-performing multicultural teams, and fostering workplace cultures built on trust, integrity, and collaboration. He believes that true luxury lies in genuine human connection, thoughtful service, and creating memorable experiences that resonate long after a guest’s departure.
Beyond his professional achievements, Paul is an avid traveller whose career has taken him across the globe, enriching his appreciation for diverse cultures, architecture, and local traditions. He has a particular passion for wildlife conservation, especially the protection and wellbeing of elephants, and remains an enthusiastic advocate for sustainable luxury hospitality that respects both people and the natural environment.
