With a deep connection to Thailand, Ted Tucker brings a wealth of experience to Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, marking his third hotel opening in the vibrant country. A long-time resident, he has embraced the culture and rhythm of the Land of Smiles, making it his home.
Originally from the south of England, Ted’s journey in luxury hospitality began in 2005 with Exclusive Hotels, where he honed his expertise in Food & Beverage before taking his first managerial role in 2008 with The Ritz-Carlton in Ireland. His passion for excellence led him to the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, where he refined his understanding of the Rooms division and completed their esteemed management development programme.
Ted’s career flourished with The Ritz-Carlton, where he spent over seven years. Progressing to a division head role in the Canary Islands by the age of 29 and recognised for his leadership, Ted was appointed to the Marriott Europe Advisory Board and entrusted with high-profile taskforce assignments, including the opening of The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo.
Thailand became a defining chapter in Ted’s journey, beginning with his role as opening Hotel Manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui. After joining Capella Hotels & Resorts in 2018, working across different properties in Asia over five years, he joined the pre-opening team at Capella Bangkok, helping shape the brand’s flagship property.
Holding a Master’s in Hospitality Management from Cornell University, Ted brings over two decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to the craft of hospitality. Fluent in English and Spanish, he is also devoted to learning Thai, a testament to his deep-rooted affinity for the country he now calls home.
